I guess I have not looked at the Declaration of Independence very carefully because I never thought there was much issue of involving religion or political status or anything like that. but then again, there are some places where it talks about God, i think, and there are some ideas that can only be achieved by certain government, but then again its for the united states right? so why would it need to be changed in order to aid those who have a different political status? unless they are talking about a different declaration, but i am not familiar with any other one.
there are a lot of similarities with the other declaration, but just different wording. it seems like this one is just more specific and makes a point to include the race, or color, or political interest in each article.
there are some articles that i dont remember being in the original declaration. like #9: no one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention, or exile.
I always thought that the declaration was pretty straight forward. however, like in many things that we have read and points that i have made before, i am from a different generation and feel like the things that were specified and narrowed down are basically implied. but not all people think the way i do so i guess it is best to have it in writing then to hope that everyone implies it and understands it.
